It's easy to attach a small video camera to a model rocket and get POV footage from the flight. This video shows the stages of a typical model rocket flight, from ignition to recovery, using an Estes Nike Smoke Pro Series II mid power rocket. This large, 3 inch diameter rocket is one of my favorites to fly!
A common camera you can use for this is called an 808 keychain camera. It looks like a car key fob, but contains a mini spy cam, and you can find them in various price points and with varying degrees of reliability. You can find them super cheap, but the cheaper they are, the less likely they are to work, so buyer beware. I have one that works great (I used it for this video), and a few others that just don't turn on. The easiest way to attach a small camera like this to a rocket is with electrical tape. It really works!

This flight used an Estes G40-7 rocket motor, and a Jolly Logic Chute Release, set to open at 300 feet above ground level.
